Printable Moving House Checklist

Free printable moving house checklist at exact scale — a week-by-week moving timeline from 6–8 weeks out through moving day and after, with a tick box for every task on one page.

This moving house checklist lays out everything that needs doing, in the order it needs doing, as a timeline: 6–8 weeks before (book removalists, declutter, budget), 4 weeks before (boxes, packing, cleaners), 2 weeks before (redirect mail, change your address, transfer utilities and internet), the final week and the day before (essentials box, meter readings, defrost the fridge), moving day itself (final walk-through, hand over keys, direct the movers) and settling into the new home and the weeks after.

Each item has a checkbox so you can tick tasks off as you go, and there’s a header box to fill in your move date, removalist and old and new addresses. It keeps the whole move in one place so nothing gets forgotten, and it prints at exact scale in real millimetres on A4, Letter or any size.

Printing at exact scale

Every sheet is drawn in real millimetres and prints at exact physical scale. For accurate output, set Scale = 100% (Actual size) and Margins = None in your browser's print dialog. Not sure your printer is honest? Run the printer ruler test first to confirm 50 mm really measures 50 mm.

Frequently asked questions

When should I start using the checklist?

About six to eight weeks before your move. The list is ordered as a countdown so you can work through each phase — 8 weeks, 4 weeks, 2 weeks, the last week, moving day and after — as the date approaches.

What does the moving checklist cover?

Booking removalists, decluttering, collecting boxes and packing, changing your address, redirecting mail, transferring utilities and internet, meter readings, an essentials box, the moving-day walk-through and key handover, and settling-in tasks at the new home.

Can I add my own tasks?

The sheet is a fixed, well-tested timeline, but you can print it and hand-write extra tasks in the margins, or lower the margin and increase columns to fit more on the page.

Is it really free?

Yes. Every template on printsheet.io is completely free, with no sign-up, no account and no watermark. Generate as many sheets as you like.

How do I get an exact-scale print?

Choose your paper size, then in the print dialog set Scale to 100% or “Actual size” and Margins to None. The sheet is defined in real millimetres, so it prints at true size. Use the calibration ruler page to verify.

Which paper sizes are supported?

A4, A5, A3, A6, US Letter, Legal and Tabloid, in portrait or landscape. Pick the size that matches the paper loaded in your printer.

Can I save it as a PDF instead of printing?

Yes — choose “Save as PDF” as the printer in your browser's print dialog. The PDF keeps the exact millimetre dimensions.
