A free printable distance radius map — enter latitude, longitude and a distance to draw true great-circle radius rings around any point on a real world map, in km, miles or nautical miles.
Type in a latitude and longitude (decimal degrees, with south and west negative or an N/S/E/W suffix) and a distance, and the sheet draws a true great-circle radius ring around that point on an accurate Natural-Earth world map. Add up to eight points, each with its own distance, colour and label — perfect for comparing how far 500 km reaches from different cities, plotting flight or shipping ranges, ham-radio and broadcast coverage, relocation searches or travel planning.
Rings are computed on the real globe, not drawn as flat circles — so a 5,000 km ring around a high-latitude city correctly stretches and wraps, and rings that cross the antimeridian or enclose a pole are handled properly. Choose kilometres, miles or nautical miles, toggle markers, ring labels, an inside tint, a legend, lat/long grid lines, country borders and ocean tint, then print at exact scale on A4, Letter or any paper size.
Printing at exact scale
Every sheet is drawn in real millimetres and prints at exact physical scale. For accurate output, set Scale = 100% (Actual size) and Margins = None in your browser's print dialog. Not sure your printer is honest? Run the printer ruler test first to confirm 50 mm really measures 50 mm. Prefer a file? Use the PDF, PNG or SVG buttons to download the sheet instead of printing — PDF and SVG keep the exact dimensions, and PNG is a 300 DPI image.
Frequently asked questions
How do I enter coordinates?
Use decimal degrees: latitude first, then longitude. South and west are negative (Sydney is -33.87, 151.21), or add a hemisphere letter: 33.87 S, 151.21 E. You can find coordinates for any place by right-clicking in Google Maps.
Are the circles accurate?
Yes — each ring is a true great-circle (as-the-crow-flies) distance ring computed on a spherical Earth, then projected onto the map point by point. That's why large rings look stretched rather than perfectly round — that's what equal distance really looks like on a flat map.
Can I show more than one point?
Yes — add up to eight points, each with its own coordinates, distance, colour and optional label. A legend under the map lists every point.
What distance units are supported?
Kilometres, statute miles and nautical miles — pick the unit and every ring and label uses it.
Why does my big ring wrap around the map or cover a pole?
Because the Earth is a globe: a ring larger than the distance to a pole encloses that pole, and rings near the date line continue on the other side of the map. The sheet handles both correctly — it's a feature of real geography, not a bug.

How do I get an exact-scale print?
Choose your paper size, then in the print dialog set Scale to 100% or “Actual size” and Margins to None. The sheet is defined in real millimetres, so it prints at true size. Use the calibration ruler page to verify.
Which paper sizes are supported?
A4, A5, A3, A6, US Letter, Legal and Tabloid, in portrait or landscape. Pick the size that matches the paper loaded in your printer.
Can I save it as a PDF instead of printing?
Yes — choose “Save as PDF” as the printer in your browser's print dialog. The PDF keeps the exact millimetre dimensions.
Can I download it as an image (PNG or SVG)?
Yes — as well as Print and PDF, every sheet has a PNG and an SVG download button. PNG gives you a high-resolution (300 DPI) image at the exact page size, ideal for pasting into a document or sharing. SVG is a scalable vector file that stays razor-sharp at any size and can be edited in tools like Inkscape or Illustrator. Both are generated in your browser from the sheet you see on screen.
